A decentralized application, they’re open-source and peer-to-peer, meaning that it’s unlikely that 30% of fees to run one will go to some central organization. NFT marketplace OpenSea, metaverse platform Decentraland, and the timeless blockchain game CryptoKitties are all DApps. If you’ve used such a DApp and never knew it was one, then that is one small sign that certain blockchain-powered technologies may yet have some staying power.
